Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations.   Pastor Mack is known to say that, everyone should be involved in some part of the ministry.  And truthfully , if you are not really involved in the fields, it is that much easier for you to leave, it makes sense because you haven’t invested anything.  So church “INVOLVEMENT” is vital.  Ask yourself, “Where can I be of service”.

Children’s Church
In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, POB typically holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the adult sunday school class.  This department is led by our resident pediatric nurse, Sis. Shirlene Flemming LPN.  The Vision: to touch the lives of each child we meet by sharing the truth & Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that THEY may impact others and start a revival.  The mission: to ensure each student hears the message of salvation and is fundamentally changed.

Inspiration Group

Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active
as ever, the over-60 group of POB gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ.

 Married Couples

Marriage is a relationship that requires hard work and patience, it takes sacrifice. Many times it requires sweat and diligence.  Make it your goal to always keep growing spiritually and growing in your emotional maturity. None of us have arrived. We all have a lot of growing to do. Don’t ever forget to keep growing.  Focus on your growth, pray for your spouse’s growth, and leave it to the Lord to bring it to pass.

Dr. Neil Clark Warren says, do not “become so weighed down by your flaws that you can’t take steps forward. Lighten up a little, give yourself a break, and refuse to be dominated by your problems- then watch as your relationship gains momentum in a positive directions.”

Our married couples group is focused on growing as individuals and growing as a couples in Christ. We strive to coordinate activities, fellowships, retreats and seminars to facilitate God’s perfect will for our marriages.  Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack.  Whether you have been married for two days or twenty years, the married couples group of POB is for you.

We offer a thriving Married Couples Ministry run by Sis. Debbie Bannis-Martin, that aid our married couples in keeping things fresh and new. Whether it is taking an unforgettable cruise to Nova Scotia on the Soctia Prince or lazily watching the waves go by on a ferry as we wisk away to “The Vineyard” for the weekend. Having a nice dinner at a swanky restaurant with a view of the Boston Skyline, or having a catered meal in a private cab on Ye Olde Cape Train, Sis Debbie always has something exciting planned for you.

Media, Technology & Audio

Our Goal at POB is to leverage the use of technology to spread the word throughout the Greater Boston Area and beyond.  We are currently upgrading our technology platforms and training our teams as well in the Sound Engineering & Presentation software to facilitate a professional level worship experience.

The music ministry of Pentecostals of Boston is taking music – To Another Level. We are here to declare thus saith the Lord with a triumphant voice and to do so skillfully. Our Ministry includes a Praise and Worship team, Youth and Adult Choirs and Musicians Team. We are all working to bring the kingdom of God all the glory through our offering of praise that goes up as an incense to the Lord creating a sweet aroma to God.

Ladies’ Group

Our ladies are involved in all aspects of worship.  The ladies group of POB provides activities from Ladies prayer, conferences, get togethers… fellowships.

Men’s Group
The goal of an Apostolic man is to be a Godly influence on his church family and his community.  Accountability and integrity are paramount.  Each year we have various activities that help to foster mentorship relationships between the men and the boys of the church.  From mountain bikeriding to basketball , it is always fun and always a great memory

Missions Department

At Pentecostals of Boston, we are on the march to really get to an epic point in our missions giving.   A great church is a giving church.    Our aim is to reach beyond our four walls by helping those who are in those fields where we are not. We currently have an ongoing missions drive that will be detailed on this site shortly.  In addition we will be using this website as a fundraising tool as well in the very near future, with the ultimate goal of simply reaching those that are lost, wherever they may be… From Hyde Park to Holland.

Praise And Worship – Music Department

Led by Elder Liburd & Bro Ettienne…Vibrant , blow the roof off the building praise it what we strive for. Truly “Davidic” praise in nature.  Our worship songs can go from christian contemporary to island flavored, caribbean tinged , high tempo worship one minute, to down home southern gospel traditional styled the other! But thats what makes POB Worship unlike any other.  Lately we’ve trained a host of our youth to be involved in the music ministry and pick up an instrument.  Still others are involved in the choir. Still others are involved in setup and break down of the equipment. Volunteers are always needed, as long as you are willing to use your gifts  to glorify God.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Pentecostals of Boston IS a praying church.  We believe in the absolute power of prayer that gives the Almight God permission to intervene in this life on our behalf!  What a great thought.  There is morning prayer on Saturday mornings , also on Sunday morning prior to Sunday School  and again in the evening prior to worship service. At any given time throughout the week there are prayer and fasting chains that are active, but still seeking volunteers.  This department is led by Bro. Phillip Gillins.

Ushering

POB’s team of ushers, led by Minister Robert Martin play an extremely vital role, because they are often the first person you meet when you arrive at POB, and also the last person you leave as they shake your hand or help you out of the parking lot as you leave.  They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life, and if you are very fortunate Deacon Holder or Minister Robert Martin will be the one holding the door for you with a smile, welcoming you to Pentecostals of Boston!

Van Ministry

This is another vital area of the church, we provide transportation to and from church services in the surrounding Boston area, in a brand “new to us” 15 passenger van driven by our team of highly professional drivers. This falls under the Men’s Ministry of Deacon Holder, and from pulling open the door and helping our elder saints aboard the van with a hearty “Praise the Lord” and a compliment or a joke. Bro Holder, Bro. Sherwin, Sis Delgado or Elder Raynor will be glad to take you where you need to go.  If you are a church member with a valid MA license and you are interested in helping… see the Deacon.

Youth Ministry

Jude 1: 1″…to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:”

The Preserved and Called youth group of Pentecostals of Boston is on fire for Jesus Christ. Meeting regularly on Friday evening to enjoy time in the word of God and fellowship with youths between the ages of 12 – 18 years old.

The PAC enjoy exploring God’s word along with finding activities in and around the city of Boston to occupy their time and energy. Also enjoying leading our congregation in praise, worship and spiritual development in our Sunday Night service on a rotation basis. We love the youth of PoB and encourage you to send your young person to become part of the “Preserved And Called” AKA  ” The PAC”.  The PAC is being led to new heights by Deaconess Lawrencia Raynor.
